LANSING -- State park officials are looking at ways their customers can save gas this summer in an effort to bolster a potentially sluggish Michigan tourist season due to high fuel costs.
Campers with travel trailers, motorhomes or trailers with boats will be able to park them at no cost for 15 days in strategically placed lots at specified parks.
Officials say parking a trailer rather than towing it home and returning in, say, two weeks can save up to a third in fuel costs when travelling to the Upper Peninsula. Read more...
